Wood was already part of his world. What interested him was how far it could be pushed.\u003cspan class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe became almost obsessive about the simple act of sitting, studying bodies at rest and questioning the upright chair that generations had accepted without much thought. Bent wood, canvas and webbing became his vocabulary.
